I've tried, but I can't even get them to attempt to sync. It's 2016 and my original Wii remote finally quit taking a charge. I tryed to resync it but that didnt do anything. What to Do: Ensure that the Sensor Bar is plugged into the Wii U console and connected properly.

Maybe you spilled something on them when you weren't using them. Your buttons may just need a good cleaning. Wii Remote Wont Sync After so many times still no connection. This worked for us.
