No Sound On Wii U Hdmi

Wii powers on, can take games in and out, screen flickers when turning it on, but nothing coming through. Also, unplug the power cord from the wall so that it can cool down aswell.1-Up_Gamer

That's odd, my Wii has its power button green all the time. I doubled checked and everything is hooked up right so i was wondering if this is normal or something wrong with my console. The ps3 controller has no batteries, so i'm only on the ps3 home screen so i'm unsure if that normally has sound?Click to expand...

  1. My sister had surround sound so that wouldn't have been an issue, and my partner has a new LG TV, so i'm guessing it would work on that too.
  2. I couldn't get any sound from my son's Wii U on my TV.
  3. If you see a setting for tv speakers and it is set to on it will mute the sound from the monitors speakers.
  4. Sound from wii comes only from wiimote?

If you have the Wii connected to the receiver via composite video, then you also need to run a composite video cable from the receiver to another input of the TV. i get no sound through the hdmi.
